THE SALT TYPHOON THREAT: What They're Not Telling You About China's Cyber Attack on America
By Mark Nole

What's Really Happening Under Our Noses
While mainstream media focuses on celebrity gossip and political theater, a massive cyber attack has been targeting America's most critical systems since 2022. They call it "Salt Typhoon," and it's not just another computer hack – it's a direct assault on our national security by Chinese government spies.
Make no mistake: this is warfare by other means. The Chinese government's hackers have broken into the networks of major telecommunications companies including Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile – the very backbone of our communications infrastructure.
The Washington Elites Were the Target
What the establishment doesn't want to highlight is that these attacks were specifically concentrated around Washington, D.C., targeting government officials, politicians, and intelligence agencies. The Chinese hackers may have gained access to sensitive communications and even discovered the identities of our intelligence assets.
Let that sink in. While bureaucrats were busy with their committees and investigations, Chinese operatives were listening to their phone calls and reading their text messages.
What They Don't Want You to Know
Here's something you won't hear on the evening news: Salt Typhoon gave Chinese spies access to our law enforcement wiretapping systems. That's right – they hacked the very tools our agencies use to monitor suspected criminals and foreign agents. It's like giving a burglar the keys to your house and a map of where you keep your valuables.
The elites in Washington kept this quiet for months, if not years. The attacks may have started as early as 2022, but only became public knowledge in late 2024. How long would they have kept us in the dark if they hadn't been forced to acknowledge it?
The Trump Administration's Response
When the Trump administration returned to power in January 2025, they took swift action. The Treasury Department imposed sanctions on Chinese companies involved in these cyber attacks. The FBI has offered a $10 million reward for information on the individuals behind Salt Typhoon.
But we're still playing catch-up because the previous administration failed to secure our networks. The damage has already been done.
It's Not Just America at Risk
Salt Typhoon isn't just targeting the United States. These Chinese hackers have compromised networks in Thailand, Italy, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. This is a global campaign to undermine Western security and give China the upper hand in international affairs.
How to Protect Your Network
While you can't stop Chinese hackers from targeting our infrastructure, you can take these steps to protect your own network:
- 1.Update your router firmware: Check your manufacturer's website for the latest security updates.
- 2.Change default passwords: Use strong, unique passwords for both your router and WiFi network.
- 3.Enable WPA3 encryption: This is the strongest WiFi security available. If your device doesn't support it, use WPA2 at minimum.
- 4.Disable remote management: Never allow your router to be managed from outside your home network.
- 5.Turn off unnecessary features: Disable Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) and WiFi Protected Setup (WPS).
- 6.Change your network name: Don't use the default name that identifies your router model.
- 7.Consider a VPN: Use a virtual private network to encrypt your internet traffic.
- 8.Monitor your network: Regularly check for unauthorized devices and unusual activity.
The FBI has already taken down parts of Salt Typhoon's hacking network, but security experts warn that thousands of compromised devices remain active across America. Don't wait for the government to protect you – take action now.
The Bottom Line
The Salt Typhoon attack represents one of the most significant security breaches in our nation's history, yet it's being treated like just another news story. This isn't about hackers stealing credit card numbers – it's about a hostile foreign power gaining access to our most sensitive communications infrastructure.
We need to wake up to the reality that China is waging a silent war against us. Our leaders need to be held accountable for their failures to protect our national security, and we need to demand real action to strengthen our cyber defenses.
The mainstream media may downplay this threat, but the American people deserve to know the truth about Salt Typhoon and the ongoing cyber war being waged against our country.
